MR and MRS Lee, the gracious owners of Guo Tiau Zi 果条仔 Tasek generously shared these heritage photos of their popular stall with us. Get a glimpse of the passion and commitment behind that humble bowl of delicious kway teow kia from these old pictures.
We've only just began..... in 1984.
Wooden push cart stall on wheels and with only a sheet of flimsy, flapping canvas overhead to shield it from the elements. Notice that small red charcoal stove at the front of the push cart stall?
The famous kway teow kia push cart stall with pots of braised pork offal on charcoal stoves under the big tree 大树脚.
Taman Tasek kway teow kia Gen 2 in 1995, the stall now "upgraded" with steel panels, moved into a more sturdy structure with a zinc roof overhead. The stall had gleaming steel folding wing panels, like one of those "Transformer" robots.
