Lay half of the flat plate, spread a layer of peanut butter, then arrange the order of the Bagels in front. Spread peanut butter on one side of the other half of the Apple slice and lay it on top of the candy. The end result will look like a big toothy smile!

Tombstone pudding:

Fill a clear glass with chocolate pudding. Crush oreos and spread on top of pudding. Take Nutter butter, Vienna cake or any other kind of long, rounded cookie. Write a RIP in the icing on top of the cookie and that place in your Earth pudding! It's chocolaty, nutty treat that everyone can enjoy.

Pumpkin muffins:

There are many ways to decorate your favorite kind of cupcake (recommend pumpkin) to give it this horrific end. You can go for Orange glaze and decorate each as a jack o Lantern. This would be a great activity for your child and her friends. Have a orange iced cupcakes ready to go and let them into the city, face painting with a black frosting! Or for a cool spider web effect, after thawing your cupcake in your desired color, draw 4 circles with a contrasting color (like the rings of a tree). Take a toothpick and began in the Middle draw a line out by speaking of a bicycle wheel. The resulting effect will look like the Web!

4o Easter Basket Ideas

When I was a kid, my Easter baskets were cellophaned to the sky and stuffed with goodies galore.  I have pictures of me as a toddler, holding my basket in my little nightgown, and the basket was taller than I was.

Along with the gifts, my basket always had those hollow sugar eggs with the ornate "scene" inside.  Do you remember those?  They had exquisite sugar decorations on the outside and an intriguing little diorama inside.  They were the most coveted Easter treat in our house.  They amazed us; only the bunny could make something so magical.

My parents always did holidays big.  Birthdays too.  With six kids the daily grind was often hectic, and there was little time (and money) for eating out or special "just because" gifts.  But we knew on Easter, the bunny was bringin' the goods.  And the night before, we went to bed with butterflies in our tummies excited for Easter morn.

These memories are some of my most cherished, hunting for eggs in my pajamas and searching the house for my basket.  

One year my brother's was in the oven.

With money tight these days, and the economy still struggling, huge holidays are a challenge.  I am a big fan of after Christmas sales to stock up on toys for Easter and birthdays.  I also watch for clearance year round, and scour the $1 spot at Target for smaller goodies.

Coffee and Cakes at Cestino Bakery and Bistro near AEON Jusco Tebrau, Johor Bahru

This is my second visit to Cestino near AEON Jusco Tebrau Mall, invited by Ah Zai, Cestino's Asst Manager.



Cestino is just a short walk through the AEON Jusco Mall covered car park or if you drive, just a 2 minute swing around to the Tebrau City Residences apartment blocks adjacent to the Mall.



As always, I can't help but stop to marvel at this giant mural of Marilyn Monroe taking pride of place at Cestino.

Cestino is a good place to chill as it is comfortable, has a good range of coffees and other hot and cold drinks, lots of cakes and desserts as well as cafe dishes like fish and chips. There is free wifi and ample free parking right at Cestino's door step.

During our visit, had a couple of Cestino's house blended coffees and a riot of colourful cakes :P







The Double Chocolate Walnut Brownie was moist, buttery with crunchy walnuts, and not overly sweet (RM10.90).





Other cakes I didn't taste today but they certainly look enticing enough for me to come back for them soon.



Cestino's tiramisu with chocolate, espresso, cheese and liqueur is one cool cake and among Cestino's hottest sellers (RM10.90).



Cheesecakes are one of my favourite cakes.



Cestino's macaroons come in 15 flavours including their signature salted caramel (RM3.20 each). Not my type of biscuit but I acknowledge that there are lots of macaroon fans out there :P



Cestino's Vanilla Cream Brulee with a rich, sweet custard base (RM10.90)





Cestino's Cream Brulee comes with this roselle poached pear. Interesting slightly tangy, sweet taste and crunchy juicy texture. Beautiful to look at too :))





We also tried Cestino's popular fish and chips (RM17.90).



I like Cestino's homemade tartar sauce. Rich, creamy, tangy and savoury with interesting crunchy bits of pickled vegetables like cucumbers mixed in.



Cestino's full bodied house blend coffees and lattes are made with aromatic Arabica beans.



Cestino's signature mocha for the coffee drinkers who like chocolate and espresso blend.

For obvious reason, this is my favourite coffee blend at Cestino ;))

Ice Cream Parlour For Your Special Ice Cream Memory

In a time when yoghurt-based and several other new kinds of ice creams are ruling the dessert scene, the variety available at Natural Ice Cream Parlour instantly reminds you of the simple and traditional ice cream. While its tag line reads Ice Cream of Juhu Scheme, today, the brand has gone way beyond the posh locale of Juhu, and is available at several places around Mumbai (and throughout India).

As soon as you step into the Ice cream outlet located at Lokhandwala Complex in Andheri (west), the huge posters of various ice cream flavours tempt you, and, may we add, confuse you, whilst taking a pick. Having said that, one of the best qualities of Natural is the fact that it truly believes in the virtue of less is more. While there is an interesting range of fruit - dry fruit- and chocolate-based ice creams, along with the basic malai flavour one, the specialty of this brand is that it doesn't have any special toppings (yet another 'in' thing in the modern-day ice creams) overpowering the original taste of the ice cream.

Its freshness keeps you asking for more from the very first bite to the last lick. Depending on the season, Natural offers an even bigger treat with its combination of mango or strawberry ice cream (only available in these two flavours), freshly cut pieces of the respective fruit, and a dollop of fresh cream. Absolutely sinful!

While the parlour can get a little crowded at times, especially during summers, you could perhaps pick up a cone or cup of ice cream (be patient, as, at times, the queue is rather long), and enjoy it over a stroll, or order it (it's free home delivery!) and have it in the comfort of your home. Take your pick - single or double scoop, fresh waffle cone or the typical one or just in a cup. The tubs are available in a quantity of half kilo. The reasonable price of the ice creams is one more reason why it can be enjoyed by anyone - from a college student to someone making big bucks.
