Chocolate Covered Easter Pretzels

Over the weekend I did some baking.  Have you seen my Mini Easter Egg Cakes?  These cakes left me with some leftover melted chocolate, which never ever goes to waste in this house.  I went straight to the pantry in search of something ready for dipping.

I came back with pretzels.  And I showed them no mercy.

Chocolate Covered Easter Pretzels

1 bag milk chocolate chips
1 cup white chocolate chips
decorative pastel sugars and sprinkles
1 bag sourdough pretzels

Line a large tray with wax paper.  In large microwave safe bowl, melt chocolate chips on high for 45 seconds.  Stir and continue heating in 30 second intervals until chocolate stirs smooth.

Dip either all or part of a sourdough pretzel in melted milk chocolate.

Place on wax paper.

Repeat with as many pretzels as possible before you are officially out of chocolate.

Melt down white chocolate, heat on high for 30 seconds, stir,  Repeat until chocolate stirs smooth.  Using a spoon, drizzle generously over pretzels.
Sprinkle with pastel sprinkles and decorative sugars.

Easter idea:
Allow pretzels to set, and once dry, arrange in a festive Easter container from the dollar store.  Secure with cellophane and ribbon, and bring to Easter Sunday.  Everyone loves a "munchie" item; something small sweet and easy to grab.

Leave the container behind as a gift, no worries about forgetting a nice Easter plate or washing one and taking it home.  And the host will appreciate an extra container/plate/bowl for next year!

Happy (almost) Easter!
