How to make homemade chocolate frosting

This simple and basic chocolate recipe is sure to be a favorite of yours for years to come. The only things you need are a pot, oven, mixer and a few high-quality ingredients.

First, start with the following ingredients:

Granulated sugar-1 cup

Cocoa-¼ Cup

Oil – ¼ Cup

Milk-¼ Cup

-1 teaspoon vanilla

For best results, always use high-quality ingredients. They make a big difference in a simple recipe like this because there are so few ingredients. Try to use real butter, real vanilla, real cocoa and whole milk if you can. It will taste the best that way.

If you absolutely need to cut calories, you can substitute the sugar for splenda, margarine for butter and skimmed milk. The result will be a little less creamy, but still delicious.

In a large bowl mix all the ingredients except the vanilla. Transfer the mixture to a large saucepan and bring to boil. Boil for one minute, then remove from heat. Add the vanilla extract.

Let it cool partially for few minutes but be careful don't let cool. You will need a little warm for the next part. For about three minutes and beat into the mixture. You can do this manually with a hand-held electric mixer or table top electric mixture you have available or you prefer. You will want to continue until the icing is spreadable texture.
