Seafood Noodles @ Restoran Savage 山番王 in Taman Ungku Tun Aminah, Skudai, Johor Bahru, Malaysia

Restoran Savage 山番王 is a new restaurant, less than 3 months old, that is already getting a lot of attention among Johor foodies. Johor foodies are raving about Savage's seafood noodles 海鲜番茄面.

Naturally, we were excited to try Savage's famous seafood noodles.

The restaurant is run by two brothers and a sister from the Choo family, who called themselves the Savages 山番. They are very warm and friendly "savages", I assure you. This is the youngest Choo brother making their popular seafood noodle soup.

Here it is, Savage's famous seafood noodles at RM6.50, loaded to the brim with noodles, prawns and la la (shellfish) soaking in a orange hued seafood soup. Savage's seafood noodles looked great but how did it taste?

The three reddish coloured shrimps were fresh, sweet, and plump.

Personally, the la la were what made this seafood noodles stand out.

The la la were fresh, sweet and juicy. They were tender and nicely chewy to the bite. The Savages cleaned the la la very well and there was no trace of any sand or dirt at all.

The tasty soup was full bodied with tangy tomato and sweet natural seafood flavours. The slightly creamy soup felt very smooth and had the texture of light milk tea.

The noodles were ordinary but it soaked up the seafood broth to complement the prawns and la la well, thus completing the dish perfectly.

I must mention those brown coloured garnishing that looked like fried shallot or meat floss. They were actually "fried egg flowers". It's function was to soak up the seafood soup to create a soft yet delicately crunchy garnishing that was flavourful and fun to eat.

Savage's seafood noodle soup is definitely worth a try. I shall also be back to try out Savage's 山番王 laksa made according to their mum's special recipe.
