Nasi Bariani Power is often mentioned together with Nasi Baryani Mohd Shah when speaking about the best of this popular dish in Batu Pahat.
Whereas Nasi Baryani Mohd Shah is a stall in a food centre, Nasi Bariani Power occupies two shop lots in Taman Soga. One of the shop lots is a spacious comfortable fully air conditioned dining hall.
As mutton was already sold out by the time I was at Power at , I had to settle for chicken.
The RM7 plate came with a large piece of chicken and a generous heap of basmati rice. There was also a dish of chicken curry and achar.
The basmati rice at Power was fragrant, and each separate grain of rice was springy and not too oily.
The chicken had a delicious, sweet, well marinated outer layer. The flesh was firm, well balanced in moistness and dryness, and tasted naturally sweet.
I enjoyed this chicken bariani and must definitely come back for their famous mutton.
